Great jerk chicken and very friendly staff. The ordering area is SO small tho.

Chicken/pork/goat lunch special cost $7.25 with a free soda. You get coleslaw, rice and peas accompanying your meat selection. I prefer steamed rice myself.. but rice and peas seem to be the way to go when it comes to Caribbean food?.. Anyways there is not much customization for this price. The chicken fell off the bone and was delicious.

I also wish they had barbecue chicken but guess I can't have everything.. For now I think they serve good Caribbean food for a decent price.

Was in the area in search of a cheap, fulfilling lunch.  The reviews were not convincing but I figured I'd give it a shot.  The place itself is small and cramped, as one customer exits, you must turn your body sideways to allow them a clear path out.  There is no seating so it's strictly take out.
I steered clear of the jerk chicken and opted for the fan favorite, jerk pork.  They had a jerk pork lunch special which was just under $9 after taxes which is very reasonable. After going in with low expectations, I was very impressed.  They give you a large portion of meat with rice and coleslaw to accompany it.  It hit the spot and I'll likely be back.

Small, as in small, jerk chicken place in the Peanut Plaza. This place has been in the plaza for more than 15 years, back from when I used to live across the street. Nothing fancy, just simply a take out place with the staples for Jamaican cuisine.. jerk chicken, jerk pork, callalloo, cod fish, etc. I had their jerk pork sandwich with a drink for $6.50. overall a decent meal for less than $8. The bread for the sandwich was a little rough, but the pork made up for it. Wish it was a bit spicier or at least have the jerk seasoning stand out more but it didn't. Again, I was not disappointed with what I got. Sandwich and a bottle of water. Still not bad.

Picked up a lb of Jerk Pork. Coated with gravy and their hot sauce. WTF . How is it possible this place is open this many years?

This place is pretty convenient to get too and not too bad on taste and price.  But it's also not far from Chris jerk and Nicey's, so it has competition.  I tried both of the other Caribbean  places and would say that the jerk chicken at Mr Jerk was the most dry. But if you ask for extra gravy it compensates for the dryness and i find it had better flavour than the other places. I also got the roasted pork. It's sold by weight, minimum $5 order. It was pretty good, it had nice burnt crispy bits, nice pieces of fat, and a good amount of meat. Altogether i got a 1/2 jerk chicken dinner and 10$ worth of pork for under $30 and it fed 2 adults with a bit of left over. The lady that works there is super friendly and loaded the rice and peas, unfortunately she didn't leave enough room for the slaw and they ran out of plantains (cost extra). Next time around i'll try going a bit earlier to get the plantains, but I'll probably just stick with the pork.
